Making a living as a musician is not simple, but it may seem simple on Youtube, however let me tell you there is a world of difference between recording in a beach house studio and playing a show for a live audience, and crowds can be brutal on musicians, especially when they are still studying their craft… And the reward for most live shows is a payoff worth only a few beers – usually which have all been consumed before the end of the show.
I play several live sets a week, and if I could get paid a little better it would be my full time task! For now I have to keep toiling in the cannabis dispensary while I was in the morning, so I can chase my dream at night.
As far as tasks go, things could be a lot worse, the cannabis dispensary is the nicest site I have ever worked, however the pay is good, the clients are usually polite, and I am surrounded by the pleasant odor of fresh cannabis, then our clients have to be polite, because the people I was with and I have an ex police officer who runs security for the cannabis dispensary. Cannabis is a cash-only business, and with that much cash on the premises, the people I was with and I keep a giant and intimidating guy at the front door to keep away trouble; His name is Lou, and he is also toiling for the cannabis store as he chases his dream of being a musician! Lou and I have a lot in common, maybe the people I was with and I should meet up outside the cannabis shop and play music together sometime.
