It took some convincing to get my mother to try cannabis.

She suffers from painful arthritis in her joints.

Her fingers would sometimes swell to twice their normal size. The stiffness and soreness in her joints was preventing her from doing everyday tasks and enjoyable activities. She struggled to type on the computer, pull weeds, wash dishes, fold clothes and even comb her hair. She couldn’t wear any of her rings. I had heard that cannabis is really effective at treating chronic pain and inflammation. CBD and CBN are especially helpful. I explained to my mother that she didn’t need to smoke cannabis. I detailed all of the various consumption methods that are easy and discreet. I suggested edibles because they are simple to consume, taste good and the portions provide precise dosing. Another convenient method is cannabis-infused beverages. My mother was interested in the gummies, chocolates and tonics. She liked the idea of tinctures, because the bottle is compact and it includes a handy dropper for dosing. The next problem was talking her into visiting the dispensary. She grew up during a time when cannabis was considered a drug for criminals. She simply could not get past the stigma of it. I was thrilled to find that the dispensary provides delivery service. We were able to sit down at my mom’s kitchen table with a laptop and shop for cannabis with no hurry and no judgment. We could talk freely, check out all options and add items to her cart. We typed in her information and paid for everything upfront. We placed the order in the morning, and the delivery driver showed up that same afternoon.
